Hydro power plant Kaunertal

Shaft winch for the construction of a hydro power plant in Austria.

• An electro-hydraulic heavy-duty winch with a tensile force of up to 600 kN was designed and manufactured for the construction of a hydro power plan in the Austrian Alps. The winch was used to lower large pipe sections with a diameter of approx. 6 m in an inclined shaft, where they are subsequently welded. Such enormous loads required appropriate safety features. In addition to safety brake with big disc brakes acting directly onto the drum, the brake system disposes of two multiple disc brakes.
  
  Additionally to the heavy-duty winch a second winch, which was used for the same shaft, was supplied. This winch was a small service winch, which was able to transport construction workers via a platform into the inclined shaft.
