Test tower Rottweil

Drive solution for the construction of a test tower for high-speed elevators.

With a height of 240 m the test tower in Rottweil, Germany which was completed in 2017, is truly an attraction. The company Thyssenkrupp Elevator GmbH has been building high-speed elevators for several years, which are tested in this tower.

Part of the construction concept was to cover the high concrete tower with a membrane. The membrane was stretched over a pipe construction that runs around the tower. The biggest challenge was the assembly of the membrane for the 240 m high tower. The solution was a specially developed assembly platform. With the help of a high-performance drive, for which ECCON (now part of LCS Cable Cranes GmbH) was responsible from development to installation, it was possible to move the 100 to platform along the tower.
