Zawtika Onshore Pipeline

LCS supplied a cable crane system to Myanmar and acts as full-service provider at “special points”.

  • LCS was involved twice in the construction of the Zawtika Onshore Pipeline in Myanmar. Once for the company China Petroleum Pipeline, where LCS supplied a cable crane system that was installed five times at different locations to transport pipes, sandbags and bulk material. Another time for the customer PTTEP, where LCS acted as a full-service provider for pipeline construction at “special points”. LCS was responsible for the entire process chain – from logistics (from the port) to soil preparation, positioning of the pipes, welding and finally filling of the trenches.

In order to successfully complete the two sections of the project, a cable crane system was installed and operated at different positions in the rough terrain where the pipeline was to be laid. The system transported the pipes and held them in position for the welding work, as well as sandbags and fill material for filling of the trenches. Furthermore, spider excavators were used during the construction of the pipeline to prepare the soil.
